- Alexis de Tocqueville (1805-1859): Fransız siyaset bilimci, sosyolog, tarihçi, siyasetçi ve yazar. Temmuz Monarşisi (1830-1848) ve İkinci Cumhuriyet (1849-1851) dönemlerinde Fransız siyasetinde aktif rol aldı. Bir süre ABD'de kaldı.
