Comedy Editorial Review
Myra Breckinridge is a bizarre cult classic from the late 60s, known for its experimental and odd nature. The movie features recuts, audio dubs, and selective audio bleeps, contributing to its notorious reputation. The performances, especially by Raquelle Welch and Rex Reed, are praised, with Mae West providing hysterical comedy. Despite its flaws, the film manages to hold attention with its over-the-top, surreal, and self-aware style. However, it is important to note that it is a relic from 1970, the weirdest era for movies. Overall, Myra Breckinridge offers a satirical approach on gender complexity.
