URBEST Pipe Insulation Tubing is a versatile product that provides heat preservation and insulation benefits to pipes and various other objects. The pliability of the foam is on par with foam pipe insulation available at home improvement stores, making it easy to use. The insulation is not pre-slit and the actual inside diameter of the 1/4" x 3/8" insulation is 1/4". While it can insulate hot electric wires, the insulation material is not suitable for bare wires, and fiberglass insulation may be more appropriate for this application. The insulation can be used on low pressure lines in a car A/C system but needs to be kept 2-3" away from the car's exhaust. The foam is generally firm but slightly softer than expected, making it usable as a replacement cushion for guitar stands. However, one customer noted that when used as insulation on a hot water pipe, water still cooled off relatively quickly.
