The tool performs as advertised, but the metal is thin and lightweight, so users should make sure to use them for decoration purposes only. The kit cannot be used with any other size of grommets, and the plier tool is designed to fit only one size of pliers. No mention of rusting over time was found, but the grommets are tiny and work only with small items. The tool needs to position correctly, press slightly at first, and then press hard to close the tiny piece, but not too hard, or it will smash the grommet into the material, causing the material to pucker. Customers struggled to punch through the fabric with the hole punch plier, and the handle bent upon the first use. The metal splits into sharp shards that radiate out from the center hole when crimped onto the fabric, leaving a rough and sharp crimped side. Users also reported that the kit did not include the described number of pieces as there were more pieces in silver than gold. Notwithstanding, the results were great when users took their time and enjoyed the process.
