Elixir Acoustic Guitar Strings Editorial Review
The Elixir Strings 8020 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings w NANOWEB Coating are a reliable option for acoustic guitar players of all levels. These strings offer a bright sound despite the protective coating, and are said to be durable. One customer review noted that they are the best acoustic dreadnought guitar strings they have ever used. The strings are available in both 80/20 bronze and phosphor bronze options. The 80/20s produce an initially brighter sound, but may become undesirable more quickly as the tone changes over time. The phosphor bronzes create a warmer tone and hold their initial tone longer, making them a good option for less frequent players. The difference in sound between light and medium gauge strings is largely about the diameter (gauge) of each string in the set, with heavier strings offering more volume and warmer sounds but being harder on the fingers. In general, the strings that come on a guitar are a good place to start when selecting replacements, but Elixir strings are Considered by some to be the best strings available for tone quality and reduced need for replacement. Overall, discerning players can be happy with either the 80/20 or phosphor bronze options on offer with the Elixir Strings 8020 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings w NANOWEB Coating.
