MXR Distortion & Overdrive M75 Editorial Review
The MXR Super Badass Distortion pedal is praised by users for its presence, power, and clarity. It is especially recommended for heavy metal sounds, with comparisons to the tone of Iron Maiden. Users have also reported success in achieving a Boston sound, with the pedal coming close to replicating the desired tone. The pedal is versatile and can be used for both crunch and searing solos, with recommendations to pair it with a Tube Screamer or an EHX Soul Food for optimal results. It is also compared favorably to the DS1 distortion pedal, with users stating that the Super Badass Distortion offers more distortion, output, and less background noise. The pedal has been tested with various setups, including a Fender Stratocaster and a Vox AC15C1, and it has been reported to sound excellent on Vox amps with strats and teles. Overall, the MXR Super Badass Distortion pedal receives positive reviews for its versatility, tone, and ability to deliver heavy, powerful sounds.
