The Clearly Filtered pitcher is a good solution if you are looking to remove a wide range of contaminants from your tap water. It has been tested to NSF standards, although it does not have NSF certifications for all the contaminants it removes. However, it has been certified by the WQA to remove PFOA and PFOS, which is unique among water pitcher systems. The filter also removes microplastics and glyphosate, but without removing natural minerals like calcium and magnesium. It does not lower the pH of the water, but it does remove acidic contaminants. The pitcher has a capacity of half a gallon and does not have a filter indicator, but the upper reservoir can be used to keep track of your water intake. The pitcher comes with one filter, and a pitcher and 3-pack deal includes a total of four filters. The lid of the reservoir fits poorly and tends to pop off, and the spout is a plastic flap that can cause spills. The pitcher and handle are not ergonomic and can be difficult to hold when full and heavy. The filter can become clogged and slow down after a week or so, which may require frequent filter replacement if you live in an older city with sediment in the pipes. The company recommends keeping the pitcher in the refrigerator and not letting the same filtered water sit in the pitcher for more than 4 or 5 days to prevent algae growth.
